Meet Our Staff

Jessica has been the Executive Director of Toronto’s First Post Office since January 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Queen’s University and a Master’s of Museum Studies Degree from the University of Leicester. Prior to working with Toronto’s First Post Office, Jessica held the position of Museum Coordinator at Baycrest Health Sciences. She has experience in all areas of museum management, including exhibitions, collections, outreach, and events. Jessica is passionate about the impact museums can make in their communities, and has worked in several museums in Toronto and England.  As Executive Director of Toronto’s First Post Office, Jessica oversees all aspects of daily operations, including budgeting, grant management, fundraising, and staff leadership.

Rebecca joined the TFPO team in July 2022, bringing on board her versatile experience in the museum sector. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours History from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University and an Ontario Graduate Certificate in Museum and Gallery Studies from Georgian College. Combining her skills as an Ontario Certified Teacher and museum professional, her past positions at various museums across Ontario and BC have allowed her to specialize and grow her skills within the field. As Museum Coordinator, Rebecca manages all aspects of museum operations including collections management, education programming, exhibit design and install, event organization, walking tours, membership, volunteers, student interns, research, curatorial practices, and most recently web development & design.

HAYLEY BLACKLEDGE

Hayley joined the TFPO team in February 2024 as a part-time postal clerk when she first moved to Canada from the UK. She then transitioned to the position of Retail Coordinator in June of 2025. Hayley is enthusiastic about all aspects of the Post Office and the organizational skills that she developed from being a teacher back in the UK help keep TFPO running like clockwork. She is determined to keep the Post Office thriving and supporting its local community - drawing in museum goers, Old Town regulars and stationery lovers. Hayley is an avid Post Crosser and loves decorating her postcards with cute stickers and washi tapes, all items that you can find in our gift shop. As Retail Coordinator, Hayley manages the operation of our post office including clerk management, P.O. box management, sales and billing, purchasing, and accounting.

Ellyn Walker is an interdisciplinary arts scholar and curator based in Toronto, Treaty 13 territory.  Ellyn has studied at the University of Toronto, McGill, and OCAD University, and completed a PhD in Cultural Studies from Queen's University where her research focused on decolonial curatorial methodologies used in contemporary exhibition-making and museum practice in Canada and beyond. Ellyn has previously taught at numerous universities in the US and Canada and was previously the Acting Director/Curator of The Blackwood Gallery from 2021–2022. Her writing has been widely published in books, journals and magazines and she currently teaches art history at the University of Toronto Scarborough. As Interim Executive Director of Toronto’s First Post Office, Ellyn will take on all responsibilities of the role including overseeing all aspects of daily operations, including budgeting, grant management, fundraising, and staff leadership.
